Epiphyseal Plate with anatomically precontoured low profile design is indicated for pediatric distal femoral fracture and proximal tibial fracture. The Epiphyseal Plate (or Epiphysial Plate, Physis, or Growth Plate) is a hyaline cartilage plate in the metaphysis at each end of a long bone. These plates are situated between the shaft of the bone and the secondary ossification centers within the epiphyses.
These are discs of cartilage present in growing children. They are located between the middle and the end of the long bones, such as the bones of the arms and legs. Most long bones have one growth plate at each end.
