4.0mm Cannulated Screws
Product Overview
The 4.0mm Cannulated screw is a part of Auxein's bone screw system. The screw is available in Short and long thread lengths.
Cannulated screws are used in bone and joint surgery to repair breaks and to secure artificial implants which may be used to replace part or all of a joint. The main advantage of cannulated screws is that they can be inserted over a guide wire or guide pin. The diameter of the guide pin is much smaller than the cannulated screw and can be more accurately placed in operating room. The screw is available with washer. The threaded washer allows use of the 4.0mm cannulated screw in indications requiring a completely recessed screw head.

Hemispherical Head ensures optimal annular contact with washer and Auxein’s plates when screws are angled.
Low profile head reduces possibility of soft tissue irritation.
Standard 2.5mm hexagonal drive is compatible with screwdrivers.
Reverse Cutting flutes assist in screw removal.
Choice of thread lengths offers best fit of threads into far bone fragment, for greater interfragmentary compression.
Cancellous thread profile uses deep cutting threads with a large pitch to increase resistance to pullout. The large pitch also accelerates screw insertion and removal.
Self-drilling, self-tapping screw tip facilitates screw insertion by eliminating the need of pre drilling and tapping in most cases.
IntendedUse
Fixation of fractures with medium fragments, e.g.:
Tarsal and metatarsal fractures and fixation in metatarsal and phalangeal osteotomies
Tarsometatarsal and metatarsophalangeal arthrodeses
