3.5mm Wise-Lock Small Fragment System

3.5mm Wise-Lock Small Fragment System

Product Features

  • Uniform hole spacing
  • Load (compression) and neutral screw positions

Wise-Lock screws create a fixed-angle construct, resulting in angular stability.

Limited contact plate design reduced plate to bone contact, protecting vascularity.

Tapered end for submuscular plate insertion, minimizing tissue trauma.

Locking plates have combination locking and compression holes (Combi holes). The Combi holes allow placement of standard cortical and cancellous bone screws on one side or threaded conical Wise-Lock screws on the opposite side of each hole.

  1. Threaded hole section for Wise-Lock screws.
  2. Dynamic compression unit (DCU) hole section for standard screws.
  3. Wise-Lock screw in threaded side of plate hole.
  4. Cortical screw in compression side of plate hole.

Note:

  • Holes in straight and reconstruction plates are oriented so that the compression component of the hole is always directed toward the middle of the plate.
  • Holes in straight Locking Plates are larger at the two ends to allow the insertion of cancellous bone screws.
  • Used for bicortical fixations in diaphyseal bone
  • Availability of self-tapping and non-self-tapping screws
  • Used for fixations in poor quality or metaphyseal bones
  • Deeper threads and coarser pitch maximizes the surface area of the threads in contact with the bone, thereby increasing the screw’s holding power in softer bone
  • Used to create a fixed angle construct with the conical, double lead machine thread on the head locking into the threaded combi-hole in the plate
  • Large core diameter provides improved bending and shear strength
  • Improved torque transmission to the screw while retention without the use of the holding sleeve.

Intended Use

3.5mm Wise-Lock Small Fragment System plates and screws are intended for fixation of fractures, osteotomies, and nonunions of the clavicle, scapula, olecranon, humerus, ulna, femur, tibia, and fibula bone.
