Vertaux 5.5 Pedicle Screw System is a fourth generation closure technology that has been designed to thread easier and hold stronger. The reverse-angle thread locking mechanism reverses the force vectors which is normally exerted on the side walls of implants during the final tightening. Pedicle screws are designed with a variety of features to enhance their stability and prevent dislodgement or loosening. These include a tapered tip, self-tapping threads, and a fluted shank.
Pedicle screw is facilitated with different types of transverse crosslink/connector that provides additional stability to the screws by increasing the rotational stiffness.
The Hooks provided with the system play a great role to achieve a fixation during posterior spinal fusion (PFS).
The Polyaxial pedicle screw of the system provides the greater flexibility to the angular rotation upto 600 in any direction. This helps surgeons for greater precision in screw placement & alignment with spinal anatomy.
The bio-mechanical properties of the monoaxial pedicle screws offers the stronger leverage that pry up the anterior portion of the injured vertebra
